Designing for the client:

Ascendant Architecture & Interior Design, PC is a full service Architecture and Interior Design firm offering traditional design services and more for both new construction and renovation projects.

We at Ascendant love to design. It is why we do what we do. And yet design is not our first priority when beginning a project - it is you, our client. Job one on every project is learning about the needs and desires of the people that will live, work, shop, play or otherwise inhabit the three-dimensional creation that is the last and most lasting result of the mutually satisfying collaborative effort shared by Ascendant staff and the end user.

To this end Ascendant architects and designers follow a five step  "design process" that is essential to creating a design responsive to your needs:

Step 1 - Listen: Listening to what a client has to say is the most important tool in creating a successful design project. With our staff's forty years of combined experience designing successful residential and commercial projects we know how to design a project to fulfill a client's needs and desires, yet no one knows better what the requirements are at the beginning of a project journey than the clients themselves.

Step 2 - Interpret: Even though the client is the expert in their needs and desires, it is the Ascendant designer who is expert at interpreting the project requirements in three-dimensional form. This is accomplished through a give and take learning process expressed in sketches and digital models presented and discussed with the client.

Step 3 - Guide: Ascendant staff will guide a client through the design process offering design solutions built around a program established during Steps 1 & 2.

Step 4 - Create: With all of the client input and research in hand, the Ascendant architect and/or designer can now pull the design together into a cohesive designed environment that will fulfill all of the needs and desires expressed throughout all of the previous steps.

Step 5 - Implement: Ascendant will create working drawings (construction documents) & specifications to communicate the final design solution to the building trades and craftspeople who will construct the space or building that will embody the research & creativity of Ascendant architects & designers as informed by the most important member of the design team - you, the client
